That line is from the amazing writer Annie Dillard. I think about this quote often, it sharpens my mind and focus on what matters each day. It also helps me think about whatever I am spending my time on in the days and weeks ahead.
I have a 5 day time tracking challenge where I show you how track and transform your time without making it difficult or stressful. We will discuss simple systems for finding time and re-directing it from mindless to meaningful.
Every day this week, wake up and remind yourself to be aware of everything. What you’re doing in that moment, why you are doing it, and how it helps or hurts you. One weird thing I found helpful is to try and observe myself as a “detached observer”. Mentally watching my actions like I would another person. It’s odd, but it takes away the emotion.
If you’re in the challenge, use this as an extra strategy throughout the week. If you didn’t want to join this time, remember to be aware of your thoughts, actions, and choices during the week. Don’t judge them, only record and contemplate in your journal.
Doing this could really change your life, I know it made a big impact on me. I’m calmer and less reactive, choosing more of the things I do each day instead of letting life happen.
I hope to see you in the Time Transformation challenge this week. If you want to join, remember to click here to start immediately!
Have a great week,
Matt
